Dr. Changqing Gao is currently the Chairman and Professor of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, the PLA General Hospital. Directors of the Institute of Cardiac Surgery, the National Training Center for Robotic Surgery, the International Cooperation and Research Center for Robotic Cardiac Surgery, and the pioneering surgeon in robotic surgery in Asia. He has completed over 600 cases of robotic cardiac surgery and published a lot of papers since 2007.
Dr. Gao holds important positions in many academic organizations home and abroad. He is the President of the Asian Society of Robotic Surgery (ASRS), Executive Councilor of the Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (ASCVTS), Councilor of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons, President of the Beijing Society of Cardiac Surgery, Executive Councilor of the Beijing Medical Association, Board Director of the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS), and Member of AATS, STS, EACTS and ISMICS.
Dr. Gao plays an active role in clinical and academic activities. He is a Professor of Tsinghua University and Nankai University. Furthermore, he is the Co-editor of the Journal of Robotic Surgery of USA, Member of Editorial Board of the Heart Surgery Forum, Member of Editorial Board of Innovations of USA, Associate Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Executive Editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Extracorporeal Circulation, and Associate Editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
